School's Out, Summer Fun is In
When school is out, it can be easy for summer boredom to set in. But you can help your kids have an unforgettable summer without breaking your budget. From the splash pads to the pools and beyond, FishHawk Ranch has plenty to do right in the neighborhood.

The brand new Xscape Theatres in Riverview is offering free children’s movies every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday through August 3. The lineup includes favorites such as Sing, Angry Birds and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2, to name a few. Doors open at 9am, and the movie starts at 9:30. Seating is limited so get there early.
Bring the family for a day of fun at Lithia Springs Conservation Park. The highlight of this hidden gem is the natural, Lithia Spring, which flows year-round. With a temperature of about 70-degrees, the water is perfect for swimming. Located on a 160-acres, the regional park, which is managed by Hillsborough County offers swimming, hiking, camping, fishing and a playground for kids. Admission is $2 per car (up to 8 people) and $2 a person for swimming. The swimming area tends to get crowded on weekends, so you may want to visit Monday through Thursday.

Your kids might just feel like they’re competing in The Hunger Games after a visit to Adventures Archery in Tampa. Located near Palm River Point (right on Highway 301 near the Selmon Expressway), this indoor/outdoor archery range offers instruction and bow and arrow target practice for all ages. There’s a six lane Children’s Range which can be adjusted between 5 – 20 yards with a staff member on hand to help with instruction and training. Adventures Archery also host birthday parties and other events. Range fees are $10 per hour or $17 per hour with rental gear. The business has also utilized Groupon for specials rates.
Lowry Park Zoo
Tampa is home of one of the country’s best children’s zoos. Head over to Lowry Park Zoo to get your fill of lions and tigers, giraffes and kangaroos. For pre-historic-lovin’ kids, there’s the current Dinos Alive exhibit, complete with life-size dinosaurs that move and roar just like the real thing.
