David Weekley Launches Encore Homes for 55+ Buyers
David Weekley Homes, the nation’s largest privately-held builder, is excited to announce its launch into the active adult market with Encore by David Weekley Homes at FishHawk Ranch, a Newland Community. Located in master-planned FishHawk Ranch southeast of Tampa in Lithia, FL, the age-restricted Encore features one-story homes and The Oasis, a 5,000-square foot amenity center developed by Weekley Homes. Encore is the first age-qualified community for the builder.

Encore at FishHawk Ranch offers three series of homes: Classic, Signature and Tradition, ranging in size from 1,600 to 2,600 square feet, with five fully-furnished model homes currently under construction. This new line of homes features a lifestyle-driven approach to home design with ample customization options and in communities that are built to encourage neighborly get-togethers.

David Weekley’s foray into the active adult market coincides with a growing change in housing desires from the nearly 76 million Baby Boomer population, said Helen Foster, owner of Foster Strategy, LLC, an active adult expert who worked with Weekley to develop Encore.
“Boomers have more economic flexibility than younger buyers, and their home preferences are changing dramatically,” Foster said. “As work pressures ease and children grow up and move on, there is also a newfound sense of freedom.
