They say you’re only as young as you feel. That’s an expression that isn’t lost on one group of FishHawk Ranch residents. They call themselves OWLS - which stands for Older, Wiser, Livelier, Seniors. This group of aged 50+ residents meet up at least once a month for friendship, fun, and conversation.
You’re likely to find the OWLS at a local restaurant enjoying a meal together, but they plan other activities as well, such as attending concerts and other events at the Straz Center for the Performing Arts, bowling, enjoying game night at The Lake House, and meet and mingle potluck dinners, just to name a few.
Nearly 200 FishHawk Ranch residents count themselves as OWLS members, and each event attracts between 20 to 30 group members. Best of all, it doesn’t cost a penny to be a part of the group. The only requirement is to be over age 50 and live within FishHawk Ranch.
Whether you’re new to the community or a long-time resident, attending an OWLS event is a great way to get to know your neighbors. The club is always happy to welcome new members.
If you’re interested in attending an OWLS event, don’t hesitate to get in touch with Sheila Roit at FishHawkOWLS@gmail.com.
