In 1980, Roger Gatewood, the founder of Homes by WestBay began a homebuilding career in Illinois by founding a company with a singular vision: to create and build homes and neighborhoods of exceptional value and enduring quality. The company grew to become nationally recognized as a builder of premier residential communites and a market leader with an unwavering dedication to customer satisfaction.

In 2002, the company delivered over 1,300 homes in its four major metropolitan areas of operation. Focused on community livability, the company's many honors include two Best in American Living awards for neighborhoods developed in Tampa Bay.

Willy Nunn, WestBay's President, moved to Tampa in 1996 and has been working with Mr. Gatewood for more than ten years in various capacities. Mr. Nunn has also held senior positions in Tampa Bay with two major national homebuilders including Division Manager and Vice President of Land Acquisition and Development for the State of Florida.

As the Tampa Bay market stabalized, Mr. Gatewood and Mr. Nunn formed Homes by WestBay to once again deliver homes with lasting value to Tampa Bay homebuyers.
