As part of FishHawk Ranch, the Starling neighborhood will offer parks and trails that connect the residents of Starling to the FishHawk County Sports Complex, the ELAPP property surrounding the neighborhood, and the Starling amenities. Planned amenities in Starling include the FishHawk Ranch Tennis Center and the Starling Club. The FishHawk Ranch Tennis Center will serve up 5 clay Har-Tru courts, prefect for tournament play, and a small clubhouse. Though FishHawk Ranch already has several tennis courts throughout the community, residents have been eager for one location that would allow for tournaments, as well as attract touring pros and exhibitions. The Starling Club, located in the heart of Starling, will offer a swimming pool, gathering room, and other programmed elements yet to be decided. Careful planning and consideration went into the choice of amenities as Newland Communities considered the input from residents through our Lifestyle & Living Panel as well as through representatives from Community Development Districts I and II. Because these new amenities are located in FishHawk CDD III, the Board of this newly formed CDD has approached CDD’s I and II about the opportunity to create an interlocal agreement between all three CDDs, in order to allow for all residents in FishHawk Ranch to enjoy all of the amenities within the community, including the new Tennis Center, trail system and Club in Starling. Aside from these new amenities, Newland Communities and the CDD continue to evaluate potential locations for a dog park, another amenity that many FishHawk Ranch residents have been eager to see in the community. Aside from the activity happening in Starling, roadway construction has also begun along FishHawk Boulevard. This first phase of construction will provide turn lanes in to Newland’s newest community, Circa FishHawk, allowing access to the two new schools currently being built – Stowers Elementary and Barrington Middle. These schools will share a joint campus and are slated to open for the 2009-2010 school year. The Hillsborough County School Board will be hosting a public meeting regarding school boundaries on Wednesday, January 14th at 6:30pm at Randall Middle School.
